Hey guys! Today is the Literary Junkies Linky party and the first one I am officially co-hosting with Taylor! I'm super excited. Last month I wasn't really able to participate because of all the Lights Festival craziness we were preparing for. I can't believe it's been a month already! So are you linking up with Taylor
LITERARY JUNKIES HOSTED BY:
YOUR DECEMBER CO-HOST: CASSIE FROM LIVE LAUGH LOVE
1. If you could write a book, what would it be about?
I think I would write a Nicholas Sparks like novel. Something that has a little bit of everything. A little romance, a little action and suspense, a little mystery. Only I would make mine a little deeper than his tend to go. I am a huge Sparks fan but I know that he is no Hemingway. I want to be able to kind of cross genres. I'd like to be a writer that I imagine Lucas Scott is, only my own style. You know what I mean?
2. If you had to read one book or trilogy for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If it was only one book, I would hands down pick Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote. It was one novel that really effected me as a person and I can't imagine not knowing that story. If it was a trilogy or series or whatever, I would pick the Sookie Stackhouse series. I just love those books.
3. Who is your current favorite book character and why?
I'm partial to Elphaba from Wicked at the moment. I just saw the musical again this weekend and it really brought back all my feelings for the book and the production on stage. I want to read the novel all over again just so I can immerse myself in her character. She was written so perfectly...and yes, I know that the character in the novel is pretty different from the one on stage in more than a few ways.
4. Is there a book your read every year during the holiday season? If so, what is it and why?
I don't. I wish I did but I don't. I always think of Sandra Bullock's character for this question and how she always read Wuthering Heights during Christmastime. Do you guys remember that?
5. Do you have any books on your Christmas list? Name a few.
Ummm yes. These are some of the books I'm dying for at the moment: How To Be A Hepburn In A Hilton World, The Longest Ride, Seriously...I'm Kidding, Just Being Audrey and the Mortal Instruments books.
6. What is a book you read and loved that you didn't expect to?
Honestly, A Tale of Two Cities. Everyone complained about one of the most iconic pieces written by Charles Dickens and I was prepared to hate it. But I loved it and surprisingly because I was forced to read it in high school.
