Are you ready for Literary Junkies Tuesday! It's time to link up with Taylor, Megan and I and make sure to join us at 7pm CST on Twitter for our chat about Where'd You Go, Bernadette?
I just started reading Destruction by Sharon Bayliss. I got the opportunity to review this book as a member of Literary Junkies and I'm really excited. It's a fantasy novel and about wizards so a perfect escape from reality. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
2. Do you judge a book by its cover? What cover elements make you not want to pick up a book?
Sometimes. I typically will read the back of books that I'm most intrigued either by the title or the cover art. There isn't much that will keep me from picking up a book. The only things that come to mind are dead animals, zombies and clowns. If it seems like animals are going to be hurt in the story, I won't touch it. Zombies and clowns (jesters, etc.) are some of my worst fears. I won't read a book if these will be involved.
3. Do you participate in any other bookish link-ups? Tell us about them so we can join next time!
I don't! I used to participate in The Book Chat with The Tangerine but there hasn't been a link up in a while. I'd love to participate in some others if you guys know of any!
4. Have you ever watched a movie that was better than its book version? Explain yourself!
I don't think I've seen a movie that I've liked better than the book but I think the Vampire Diaries series is better than the books. I loved The Secret Circle series which was also by L.J. Smith but The Vampire Diaries got to be too much. I still have to finish the series but I'm not in any rush to. I've got a ton of other books I'd like to read first.
5. Summer is here! Do you read more often during any particular season?
When I was in college I used to do most of my reading during summer break and my 6 week winter break. Now that I'm not in college and working full time, I notice that I have periods that I'm reading lots and periods where it will take me longer to get through a book. For example, it took me about 5 weeks to read What Alice Forgot even though I absolutely loved it. Where'd You Go, Bernadette? only took me about 2 weeks even though it wasn't my favorite, although pretty entertaining.
6. What is the worst book you've read this year? Why?
There hasn't been a book I've read so far this year that I didn't like. If I'm picking my least favorite, I think it would be either Serena or A Place at the Table. They were still pretty good books and I didn't dislike them by any means.
