20 Movies That Scream Summer

20 Movies That Scream Summer

Summer is a great time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine but let's be honest. There are rainy days and sometimes it just feels good to be lazy. With that said, we've put together a list of 20 movies that scream summer. Get ready to dive into that leftover piece of cheesecake from the fourth and embark on a much needed movie-thon.

(500) Days of Summer This is the movie of all summer movies. I love Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon Levitt. This was a great team right here.

50 First Dates I remember seeing this movie in the movie theater when it came out. Hilarious and ridiculous, this movie is one of my favorites with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.

Because I Said So Who doesn't love Diane Keaton? I swear this movie will be my life in about five years. Mandy Moore's character and me are two peas in a pod.

Blue Crush How can you have a summer movie list without a surfer movie?

Cheaper By The Dozen 2 This is the one where they go to the family camp that has competitive games. You will not stop laughing throughout this movie. How can you resist Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt?

Crossroads Duh. Did you not think I would include the one movie starring Britney Spears? Besides, this movie screams summer. A road trip after graduation to California? I wish I was that adventurous when I was 18.

Dirty Dancing Epic. Summer. Movie. This is a classic. Ryan Gosling totally nails it in Crazy.Stupid.Love. with the dance move. Any girl would melt if they get lifted up like Baby. If you haven't seen this movie, please come out from whatever rock you're hiding under and watch it this week.

Failure To Launch I remember watching this movie on repeat on a trip to Hawaii in high school. I still can watch this movie on repeat.

Gidget The surfer movie to start all surfer movies. Sandra Dee plays innocent Gidget in a teen back romantic comedy from back in the day.

Grease I really don't think I need to explain why this movie is included.

He's Just Not That Into You Because this movie is fantastic and you love it even if you won't admit it. Can I please have Ben Affleck's character as my finance? He's literally the perfect guy. I just about die when he breaks out the surprise proposal every single time.

Into the Blue Another surfer-ish movie that is bad ass. Paul Walker and Jessica Alba are super hot in this movie. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConnaughey ripped off of this a few years later with Fools Gold.

Jungle 2 Jungle Do you remember this gem from childhood? I loved this movie. What ever happened to Tim Allen?

Letters To Juliet This is another movie I could watch on repeat. It's just a fun, light-hearted, feel good movie. The beautiful Italian scenery is incredible too. I kind of want to watch it right now.

The Lizzie McGuire Movie Another throw back, I couldn't not include this epic movie on the list. The Lizzie McGuire Movie had every tween and teenage girl singing out of a hairbrush in front of their mirror dreaming of becoming a popstar all because of a trip to Europe. By the way, I totally would have stayed and become a pop sensation.

Mamma Mia! Say what you want, Mamma Mia! is fabulous. I dare you not to laugh while watching this movie. And I dare you not to get wanderlust and hop a flight to Greece.

Midnight In Paris I might be a bit biased for this particular film because I saw it for the first time in Paris during the summertime. Talk about an experience to remember. I personally feel like this is one of Owen Wilson's best films.

Roman Holiday You didn't think I forgot Audrey, did you? Absolutely not. Roman Holiday is one of her classics. This light-hearted comedy is a great film for summertime. Oh, and don't we all wish we were European Princesses.

The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants This movie wins simple for Lena's (Alexis Bledel) and Bridget's (Blake Lively) summer adventures. Please, please give me a gorgeous Greek boy to spend a whole summer with.

Sixteen Candles Maybe not the most obvious pick for summer, Sixteen Candles is one of my favorite John Hughes films. The end when he's standing outside his car waiting for her gives me butterflies every single time.

So what do you think? Do you have more to add?
